RMKS/1. This advisory is being issued to provide guidance on how to
submit documentation for verification of Imminent Danger Pay (IDP)
entitlement and updated Hardship Duty Pay Location (HDP-L).
2. Ref A is the policy designating the land areas of Saudi Arabia
as Imminent Danger Pay (IDP) effective September 14, 2019.
3. For active duty personnel who served in these areas at any time
from September 14, 2019 to May 31, 2020, members will need to
provide the following documentation to their local finance office
showing they served in the land areas of Saudi Arabia:
     (1) Permanent Change of Station (PCS)/Temporary Change of Station
           (TCS)/Temporary Duty (TDY) mobilization orders,
     (2) DD Form 1351-2, Travel Voucher or Sub voucher, and/or the
     (3) Defense Travel System (DTS) voucher.
Finance offices will open and submit case to DFAS-CL via the
Defense Workload Operations Web System (DWOWS) as follows:
      SYSTEM:  ACTIVE
      DEPT: JFLF
      CLERK CODE: 511 - For Hardship Duty Pay Location only
      CLERK CODE:  CEL - For IDP cases only
4. Members will receive IDP of $225 per month, prorated at $7.50 per
day.  Pay adjustments for June 01, 2020 and forward will be handled by
finance office with no action needed by member.
5. For service separated personnel who served in these areas at any
time since September 14, 2019, members will submit a copy of the
following substantiating documents to
dfas.cleveland-oh.jfl.mbx.mb-milpayops@mail.mil:
     (1) Permanent Change of Station (PCS)/Temporary Change of Station
           (TCS)/Temporary Duty (TDY) mobilization orders,
     (2) DD Form 1351-2, Travel Voucher or Sub voucher, and/or the
     (3) Defense Travel System (DTS) voucher.
6. Members will receive IDP of $225 per month, prorated at $7.50
per day.
7. A policy change was made to reduce Hardship Duty Pay - Location
(HDP-L) for Saudi Arabia from $150 per month to $100 per month. This
change will be made at the same time IDP is paid and will show as a
debt on the member's Leave and Earnings Statement (LES). The change
to HDP-L is required due to DoD policy that states that the combined
HDP-L and IDP cannot exceed $325 per month.
